Grand Christmas Concert
At the historic Basilica of Santa Maria della Passione, the BORISTENE Association celebrated the music and spirit of Ukraine with a classical concert. Eight Ukrainian artists, refugees in Italy following the Russian invasion, performed a musical program that ranged from works by renowned Ukrainian classical composers to pieces by international authors, reflecting the spirit of Ukraine. The concert also featured traditional Ukrainian Christmas carols (kolyadky), including Shchedryk, also known as Carol of the Bells. H.E. Andrii Yurash, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See, opened the event, emphasizing its cultural and symbolic importance. Among the audience, 40 children displaced by the occupation received a special gift: the magic of music and a message of hope. The concert celebrated Ukrainian resilience and cultural heritage, showing how art can unite, inspire, and illuminate even in the darkest times.y following the Russian aggressions of 2014 and 2022, shared the history, culture, and soul of their country through their voices and instruments, creating a bridge between Ukraine and Europe.
