On June 25, 2025, as a part of the second edition of Ukraine is Ukraine festival, we hosted a lecture at the Pereti Theatre by Yaryna Grusha, a lecturer in Ukrainian language and literature and acclaimed writer. She presented the Executed Renaissance, a pivotal yet tragically suppressed chapter of Ukrainian cultural history.

The audience learned why so little is known abroad about Ukrainian artists, especially in literature, and how the Russian Empire sought to destroy Ukraine’s cultural elite, erasing the depth and richness of its culture.
The lecture offered a rare insight into the resilience of Ukrainian creativity and its enduring literary and artistic legacy. It was recorded and is now available on our YouTube channel.
