On May 10, we held the first day of the “Ukraine is Ukraine” festival in Milan's city center.
The fourth event was dedicated to the Ukrainian traveller of the early 20th century, Sofia Yablonska.
The lecture was delivered by Veronika Homeniuk, President of the Sofia Yablonska Foundation, established to preserve Yablonska’s legacy.
Sofia Yablonska was one of the brightest figures of 20th-century Ukrainian culture. A writer, photographer, and traveler, she was among the first Ukrainian women to journey around the world and document her experiences in books.
The festival also featured Yaroslav Hrytsak and Natalia Kryvda. The second part of “Ukraine is Ukraine” was also dedicated to the Ukrainian ballet.
The event was held under the patronage of the Comune di Milano, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Italian Republic, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Milan, and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
We were able to organize the event thanks to the contribution of Maryana Shafro and the support of our partners: Valeria Rodnyansky, Viktoria Boklag, POUSTOVIT, Nadiya ODV, Biosphere Corporation, and Truff Royal.
