On May 10, we opened the third edition of the «Ucraina è Ucraina» festival.
The event took place at the Convento di S. Maria degli Angeli in the center of Milan, where experts delivered five lectures.
Yaroslav Hrytsak spoke about the phenomenon of Cossacks in Ukraine, while Natalia Kryvda discussed Ukrainian women who shaped the country’s history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Viktoriia Zvarych explored the connection between Ukrainian ballet and the global ballet tradition; Veronika Homeniuk presented the story of early 20th-century travel blogger Sofia Yablonska; and Olha Manko together with Max Uzol guided the audience on a journey through contemporary Ukraine.
Later, guests joined an aperitivo in the courtyard of the venue.
The event was held under the patronage of the Comune di Milano, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Italian Republic, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Milan, and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
We were able to organize the event thanks to the contribution of Maryana Shafro, as well as the support of our partners: Valeria Rodnyansky, Viktoria Boklag, POUSTOVIT, Nadiya ODV, Biosphere Corporation, and Truff Royal.
